Join us for session one of Cascale’s Responsible Purchasing Practices Learning Series designed to build practical understanding of how commercial decisions shape purchasing practices and decent work outcomes.

The Responsible Purchasing Practices Learning Series is a Cascale learning series designed to help member brands strengthen the commercial fluency and cross-functional alignment needed to improve Responsible Purchasing Practices and act on Better Buying insights. Through practitioner-led sessions focused on sourcing, costing, planning, forecasting, and merchandising, members will explore how commercial decisions influence supplier relationships, operational stability, purchasing practices, and decent work outcomes.

Each session is offered twice to accommodate our global community’s time zones.

Session 1: Commercial Decisions Create Sustainable Outcomes

October 21, 2026

This 2-hour session will explore how decisions across sourcing, product costing, demand planning, and forecasting work together to shape product margin and business performance. Through practical examples, Kristen Oliver and Eric Goldner will help participants connect the decisions made upstream with their financial and operational impact downstream. Attendees will leave with actionable approaches to explore within their organizations and stronger shared language for engaging commercial teams in responsible purchasing practices.

This session will not be recorded and will run under Chatham House Rules. Participants should plan to attend live to participate.

Eric Goldner

Eric Goldner is a bilingual Supply Chain Executive (MBA) and Senior Educator with 30+ years of global leadership experience spanning Nike, Columbia Sportswear, Keen, Coach, and Wolverine Worldwide. Throughout his industry career, he led global sourcing, costing, and supply chain strategies that drove profitability, operational transformation, and scalable growth. Eric has built and led high-performing multicultural teams across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, delivering complex cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced global environments.

Today, Eric brought that executive experience into the classroom as a graduate-level instructor at the University of Oregon, Institut Supérieur de Gestion, and Pacific University. He designs and delivers experiential, industry-connected courses in sourcing, costing, global operations, organizational behavior, diversity, and leadership. Eric’s focus is helping students bridge theory and practice by applying real-world business challenges to their learning experience.

Kristen Oliver

Kristen Oliver is a senior finance executive with more than 20 years of experience in the global footwear and apparel industry, including leadership roles at Nike and adidas. Her career has spanned sourcing finance, product costing, commercial finance, FP&A, and business leadership across North America, Europe, and Asia. She brings a practical, end-to-end perspective on how decisions throughout the product creation process impact cost, margin, and overall business performance. Kristen is the founder of Endurance Margin Advisory, where she helps consumer brands strengthen financial performance and decision-making.
